I met some awesome nerds at Phoenix Comicon! Wheaton said he liked this, and signed my copy. He was a sweetheart too. I consider my nerd cred level slightly boosted. I also met Nichelle Nichols!

While I love The Next Generation a bit more than the original Star Trek, Nichelle Nichols is an idol of mine. Not only was she a complete doll (big floppy hat, called me “dear” a lot) but her portrayal of Lt. Uhura was incredibly empowering for women, and for African Americans from 1966 onwards. Quite the ground-breaker, and SUCH a nice gal. I managed to snag her autograph for my mom. :)
